Dad’s famous well-honed homemade pizza dough recipe
Ingredients for dough
| 4 tbsp | sugar | |
| 1 tbsp | kosher salt | |
| 2 tbsp | olive oil | |
| 1 1/2 cups | warm water | |
| 4 cups | bread flour | |
| 2 tsp | bread yeast | |
| semolina flour |
Ingredients for pizza
| 1 block | fresh mozzarella (part skim) | |
| 10 | roma tomatoes | |
| basil | ||
| oregano |
Make The Dough (leave time for dough to rise)
Mix sugar, salt, olive oil, water, flour, and yeast
Let mixer knead dough for about 5 minutes, or until nice and elastic.
Coat bowl with a little bit of olive oil
Let the dough rise overnight in the fridge, or during the day in a warm place
Assemble The Pizza
Preheat the oven to 500 degrees, and make sure the rack is in the lowest slot
Cut tomatoes and mozzarella into thin slices
Divide the dough into four chunks
Roll out one chunk of dough to roughly a 14 inch circle
Toss in the air, if you dare!
Use semolina flour on the pizza peel, to keep the dough from sticking
Put the dough on the pizza peel
Add tomatoes, mozzarella, basil and oregano, in that order
Bake the pizza for about six minutes
Let pizza stand to cool for about 1-2 minutes
Slice and Enjoy!
