Ginger Cookies

Luciana’s recipe for ginger cookies


Ingredients

2 1/4 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup butter, softened
1/4 cup molasses
1 egg - room temperature, beaten

For best results, leave the dough to sit overnight before baking


Preheat oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit


Mix all of the dry ingredients together in a bowl


In another bowl, beat the sugar and butter together. Add in the beaten egg, and then add in the molasses.


Fold in the dry ingredients with the wet in thirds or halves, and mix well


Mold the dough into little balls depending on your size preference for the cookies


Place the dough balls onto a greased baking sheet, and squish the middle of each ball to flatten the top


Bake for ~8 minutes


Let cool for 2-5 minutes before enjoying
